The second time after becoming one of the world's natural wonders, Quang Ninh Province is planning to increase sightseeing tickets to visit Halong Bay twice, starting in 2014.

Currently tickets to visit Halong is devided into 2 categories, day trips and overnight trips. Estimated fare to visit Ha Long Bay will be adjusted from level 60.000 vnd and 130.000 vnd to 150.000 vnd -200.000 vnd respectively for a ticket, equivalent to twice the current price.

With the new prices, there will be additional funding to partially offset the investment and renovation, conservation, promoting the value of the world's natural heritage Ha Long Bay. Besides, the fare increase will provide the basis for the bidding of the Halong sightseeing fee collections for the coming years, according to Quang Ninh people's committee.

With the new prices, Quang Ninh in 2013 will reach 200 billion vnd from ticket sales. The entire amount will be used for maintenance and reinvestment of the bay.

Along with Halong Bay, the provincial authorities are planning to collect fee to visit Bai Tu Long bay, the neighboring to Halong. Tickets for day trips lasting from 6.30 am to 18.30 is 100.000 vnd per person, equivalent to 5 usd, passengers staying overnight on board in the bay will pay 150.000 vnd per person, fees for 3 day tours with 2 nights aboard on the bay is 200.000 vnd a person.

The authorities have also decided to provide free entry for those who have contributions to the country's revolutions, children under 15 years old pay half the adult fares, people with disability and more than 60 years old also be provided 50% discount.
