Halong Bay is a popular
tourist destination of Vietnam, located in the west coast of
Tonkin Gulf in northeastern sea area, with thousands of
magnificent islands, the creation of nature,
Halong Bay was
recognized by UNESCO as a heritage of the world. Halong bay
boasts beautiful scenery, attractive to tourists both
domestic and international.
Halong is aprox 170km from Hanoi capital, to
go to Halong city can choose the approriate means of transport
Motorcycle or cars
- The route Hanoi - Bac Ninh - Halong is the shortest road
trip, it takes about 3 hours as follows: From
Hanoi
passengers travel along highway 5 to Sai Dong junction (10
km), from Sai Dong you continue the journey to Bac Ninh 23
km, from Bac Ninh the trip goes through Pha Lai, Chi Linh,
Sao Do, Dong Trieu, Uong Bi districts before arriving in
Halong city (125 km).
- The route from Noi Bai international airport to Bac Ninh
town (32 km) then continue through highway 18A via Pha Lai,
Sao Do, Dong Trieu, Uong Bi districts to Halong city.
Public bus
- Passengers can travel by public bus from My Dinh or Luong
Yen stations, the first trip starts at 6.00 am and the last
sets off at 17.00, it takes about 4 hours to reach Bai Chay
bus station in Halong city, bus trips start every 15 minutes
and fares range from 5 usd for a seat to 10 usd for a bed.
Trains Hanoi to Halong
Passengers can book the trip with Halong Express starting
from Gia Lam station, the train starts at 7.00 am and takes
about 5 hours, fares is 5 usd/way for domestic passengers
and 15 usd for international visitors.
Halong bay cruise
- Tourists can buy your own tickets and
charter a private
cruiser, you can keep the cost down by using shared boat at
5-8 usd/person depending on boat size, if you are traveling
with friends or family you'd better arrange a private tour,
it costs 70 - 80 usd for a 4 hour cruise, in peak season
price is higher, visitors can choose a 4 hour cruise,
visiting
Thien Cung and Dau Go cave, if you take a 6 hour
cruise the trip will take you further out to
Sung Sot cave.
