Yen Tu Mountain Festival attracts thousands

Yen Tu Mountain Festival , thousands of visitors flocked to Yen Tu Mountain in northern coastal Quang Ninh province to attend the opening day of the Yen Tu Pagoda Festival on February 16, the tenth day of the first lunar month.

Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan, Vice National Assembly Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong and representatives of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha's Executive Council also attended the opening prayer.

The annual Yen Tu Pagoda Festival lasts until the tenth of the lunar March. This year, the second cable car system has been completed with an investment of VND 70 billion to reduce the overloading of visitors who want to go up to Dong Pagoda located on Yen Tu mountain around 1,068m above sea level. The foot path has also been upgraded.

Ahead the festival, around 12,000 visitors have come to Yen Tu Pagoda Festival. Yen Tu welcomed 150,000 visitors on the first nine days of the first lunar month and is expected to receive more than 1 million pilgrims this year.
