The southernmost tip

Ca Mau Tip, the southernmost part of Vietnam, is located in Ca Mau Province and is about 470 km south of Ho Chi Minh City.

It is a land with a mix of Vietnamese, Chinese and Khmer ethnic groups and is the only place on the mainland where people can see the sun rise in the East Sea and set in the Gulf of Siam.

The Ca Mau Tip, the land which links the East Sea with the Gulf of Siam, extends for hundreds of meters every year because of sedimentation.

It is a site of scientific research and ecotourism development.

Ca Mau Province has a salinity-intruded forest with an area of 100,000 hectares and a rich ecosystem.

The forest at Ca Mau Tip is the second largest salinity-intruded forest in the
world.

Natural resources, especially fishery products, are a big source of economic benefit.

At Ca Mau Tip, visitors can spend holidays at a tourist resort with cottages tucked away in the forest.

They can stand on the 20-meter Sea Watching Tower to take in a panoramic view of the area.

At night, tourists can sing songs, play games, tell stories and enjoy fresh seafood around a camp fire.

Performances of Mekong Delta traditional music are available on request.

Visitors to the Tip will also hear stories about Uncle Ba Phi, a man who was famous for his humor and was called the "king of telling lies." Some of his famous stories include how he managed to force a tiger to husk the rice for him and how a giant snake bailed out a pond to catch fish and shrimp.

Soon a tourist agency of Ca Mau will operate games such as mud-surfing and crab-catching for local and foreign tourists.

These games together with the scenery and legends of this land make for a unique holiday experience.

Nature lovers should not omit a visit to the tip of Ca Mau Province when in the Mekong Delta.
