Though the traffic in Vietnam is not so good, drivers drive quite competently, he will slow down for the big bumps in the road, driving the speed limits and driving very safely.

Is it safe to stay overnight on the junk boats?
Yes, It's quite safe. Halong Bay is calm and our selected junk boats are firm and big like a floating mini hotels. 24/7 service is always available for emergency situation. There are hundreds of junk boats are operating tours on the Halong Bay but we only select the best ones with good conditions for our customers.

Are there lifejackets onboard? Will they fit children?
The Junk is fully equipped with all the latest safety gear and each cabin has lifejackets. There are also life buoys suitable for children.

Is there an electricity supply aboard the junk?
Yes, we do have electricity supply aboard to ensure the light at all time and that the air con working properly. So you can use your gadget to support the flat battery.

Could you let me know how big the group is on the junk?
Our junk is small and cosy. It is not for the big group. It just accommodates small group of 8-12 people allowing maximum of flexibility and privacy. Our Junk boat is more personal and authentic.

When staying on the boat how many rooms does the rate include?
The rate is based on twin/double cabin. if you take a single cabin you will pay the single supplement.

If you have 2 adults and 1 child of 5 year old the bedding arrangement will be 1 twin/ double cabin. You will share the same cabin. Your child of 5 year old is free of charge

No, thousands of islands provide natural shelter in Halong bay, so it's quite calm.

Yes, you can sleep on the upper deck if you wish, there are comfortable lounge chairs there. There are no mosquito nets available on the deck.

Do I have to book on-line? Can I use my Travel Agent?
You can either book with Halong Tour on-line, directly with us or visit your nearest travel agent. If you choose to book on-line the web desk will process your booking on-line and all correspondence will be via email. We're always happy to work with reputable Travel Agents to help arrange your vacation. Your Travel Agent still receive his or her commission on flights and any travel insurance.

Booking a trip through the internet can be tricky: who will guarantee that I will get what I paid for?
To assure you that the money you want to spend on your holiday will not be lost somewhere on the electronic highway we sell our trips under the most favorable booking conditions:?
- When you book a trip you make a deposit of only 10% per person (note: bank fee is on your side)?
- The remaining amount will be paid before the starting date of the tour when all reservations have been made.

Is availability guaranteed when I book online? If I book a tour, can I be guaranteed that it will run?
On some tours we must confirm arrangements with our people on the ground, a process which usually takes no more than 24 hours. When you book online you will receive a follow-up email confirming your arrangements or a timeframe for when they will be confirmed. We strongly recommend that you do not make any other non-refundable travel arrangements until your tour is guaranteed to run.
Occasionally, of course, political situations and other factors may mean that it's not possible to run a trip but this is very rare.

A tour may be cancelled due to bad weather, closed roads or simply not enough people. In any case,

Do you think I need to have tour guide to escort to Halong bay? Can we book a tour without a guide? What about kayaking and biking?
The rates for all tours in this website are inclusive of tour guide service, you
won't have to afford him/her meals and accommodation. Your guide
will travel with you on the road, telling you more about Vietnam and helping you on the
way. It is possible to book a tour without a guide so that you can
keep the costs down. For your safety, a guide is mandatory on all
Halong Tour "adventure" tours such as kayaking and biking

All documentation is sent electronically by email. Shortly after we receive your booking form we will send you your trip documents (normally within 48 hours) which should be printed out by participants and retained as a receipt.

What about tipping?
If you are satisfied with your tour guides, drivers then a small gratuity is an appropriate way in which to show appreciation. Generally an amount of around US$5-7 per day should be budgeted for your guides/leaders and drivers. Tipping of
the boat staff would be extra.
